Charlotte Bister

Co Artistic Director

Charlotte in Twisted Tales Vol.2

Charlotte studied English Literature and Theatre Studies at Lancaster University before going on to train as an actor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. In 2008 she got her first professional touring job with Miracle Theatre in Cornwall where she met Dan. A year later ‘Owdyado Theatre was born. Charlotte has co-written, produced and acted in all ‘Owdyado shows to date including About A Bench, Wrongdoings and Wake Up Calls at the Stop-Off Motel, Above Bored, A View from the Edge, Twisted Tales Vol.1 and Twisted Tales Vol.2 and Twisted Christmas. Charlotte also works as a freelance actor and has performed with many other Cornwall-based companies including Hall For Cornwall, (Behind the Postcard) Miracle Theatre (Sleeping Beauty, Jason), Trebiggan Productions (Cider with Rosie), Collective Arts (The Trench 2016 & 2018 ) and The Eden Project. Charlotte is also a visiting lecturer at Falmouth University working with students of the School of Film and Television on script development.

Daniel Richards

Dan in Twisted Tales Vol.2

Dan began his professional theatre career working as a technician with Miracle Theatre during their Jason production. After meeting Charlotte and forming ‘Owdyado, Dan went on to co write, produce and act in all of ‘Owdyado’s subsequent productions. He has also directed Twisted Tales Outdoors and Twisted Christmas for the company. Also a freelance actor, Dan has performed in many shows for Miracle Theatre, including Star Crazy, A Perfect World, The Cherry Orchard, Tartuffe and Cat’s Cradle as well as working with Trebiggan Productions (Cider with Rosie), Collective Arts (The Trench 2016) and cube theatre (The Crucible). Dan is also the co-founder of Near-ta Theatre, most well-known for their cult seasonal production Christmas. Time. which is now in its twelfth year! Dan is also a visiting lecturer at Falmouth University working with students of the School of Film and Television on script development.


Brett Harvey

Brett Harvey

Director & Writer

Brett Harvey is a film writer and director based in Cornwall, Associate Director of o-region production company and member of BBC Writersroom Cornish Voices group. His first feature film Weekend Retreat won multiple awards including Best Director at the London Independent Film Festival 2012 and his second feature Brown Willy won the Golden Chough at the Cornwall Film Festival 2016. His third feature film Long Way Back premiered at the Manchester Film Festival in 2022 before going on general release. For ‘Owdyado, Brett has directed A View from The Edge (second tour), Twisted Tales Vol.1 and Twisted Tales Vol.2 as well as writing Bilbo and the Blue Bear (for TTV1) and The Lost Code of Eryx (for TTV2). Brett also makes the company’s promo trailers.


Hannah Stephens

Hannah in Twisted Tales Vol.2

Actor

Hannah is a professional actor based in Cornwall and currently appears in ‘Owdyado’s Twisted Tales Vol.2 . Hannah also starred in Twisted Tales Vol.1 (second tour). Outside of ‘Owdyado, Hannah is a regular actor with Miracle Theatre and has performed in Treasure Island, A Perfect World, Aladdin and The Third Policeman to name but a few. She has also performed for Pipeline Theatre, appearing in their acclaimed touring productions Transports & Spillikin. Hannah is also a core member of comedy troupe Trifle Gathering Productions and lead singer of all-girl punk band Shagrat.


Connie Crosby

Connie Crosby

Actor

Connie Crosby is an actor based in Cornwall. She grew up in the world of theatre, with a brief foray into academia when she graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BSc in Psychology in 2016, but has since returned to Cornwall to follow her dream of making theatre.

She is Artistic Director of The Story Republic and a partner in Coppice Theatre. She has previously worked with Kneehigh, WildWorks and Palores Productions. For ‘Owdyado, Connie has performed in Twisted Tales Vol2, Twisted Tales Outdoors and Twisted Christmas.


Jon Welch

Jon Welch

Writer

Jon wrote ‘Happiness’ for Twisted Tales Vol.2 and ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?’ for Twisted Tales Vol.1. Outside of ‘Owdyado, Jon has written extensively for cube theatre and Pipeline Theatre – of which he is the Company Director. Pipeline shows include Spillikin, Swivelhead and Drip Drip Drip. Spillikin featured a real-life robot and was shortlisted for Best of Edinburgh award in 2015.


Ben Sutcliffe

Ben Sutcliffe

Musical Director

Ben first worked with ‘Owdyado designing the soundtrack to their A View from the Edge production and returned to the company to design the soundtrack to Twisted Tales Vol. 1 and Twisted Tales Vol.2. Ben is also Musical Director for The Minack Theatre and the co-founder and front man of the urban-roots project The People's String Foundation which tours internationally as a trio, festival band and an orchestra. Ben has also worked as an MD for Rogue Theatre, Trebiggan Productions and Kneehigh (FUP).
