About A Bench

“This production has the loose, freeform feel of a reduced Shakespeare Company production” Source FM

“A park bench centre stage, people it with actors of the calibre of Daniel Richards and Charlotte Bister, from Penryn-based ‘Owdyado theatre company, have it directed by Simon Harvey of o-region and Kneehigh, and you have something worth going to see.” The Cornishan

About A Bench

‘Owdyado Theatre, Cornwall’s most exciting company for new writing put the humble park bench centre stage to explore the intricate human dramas that take place upon this normally inconspicuous object.

Directed by Simon Harvey (o-region, Kneehigh), the play follows ten separate stories that all have one thing in common; a park bench. ‘Owdyado use a wide range of theatrical styles from playful mime to mind bending surrealism to bring you a unique production unlike any other you may have seen before.

Join two inseparable drifters as they try to find out where they are, where they were going and even where they came from, watch a whole love story unfold in ten minutes and discover what happens when you meet yourself.
With a colourful mixture of characters, methods and even time zones ‘Owdyado deliver a fast-paced, punchy, original show that’ll have you laughing, crying and leave your head spinning
