New ‘Owdyado cast member: Katy Withers (playing Dolores and other characters)
Katy is originally from Gloucester & having been living in London for 13 years is very excited to be down in beautiful Cornwall and working with ‘Owdyado on their amazing new show!
Many moons ago Katy trained with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain (NYT) before going on to study Drama & Technical Theatre Arts at Middlesex University, Trent Park & finally completing her acting studies at ALRA (Academy of Live and Recorded Art).
Since graduating she has worked on various productions, most of which allow her to be silly for money. These include – Birmingham Stage Company‘s last two Christmas shows – Horrible Histories, Horrible Christmas and (playing too many roles to count on one hand) in their national tours of Groovy Greeks & Incredible Invaders. For C Theatre she has performed as Benviola on their Edinburgh Festival hit – Shakespeare for Breakfast – Romeo & Juliet & performed in their improvised soap opera This is Soap both at C Theatre Main. She has also performed as a member of the longstanding ‘Newsrevue’ cast at the Canal Theatre Café & works as a company member with the improv company – The Invention Cycle at various venues around London. Katy is also a trained puppeteer and has had the privilege of working with the fantastic puppets of Blunderbus Theatre Company on the Rainbow Fish & The Dragons Daughter. The furthest south that Katy has been previously been to perform was a lovely summer spent as a Rep Theatre company member with Charles Vance Productions at The Pavillion Theatre, Sidmouth. Roles with Charles Vance included – Jane in Jane Eyre, Kitty in Taking Steps, Jane in Absurd Person Singular & Maggie in Suddenly at Home.
Katy’s film credits include Irene in Castle Valley‘s film Welcome to The Majority & Trudy McPherson in Third Row Centre with SingleHandFilms. Most recently Katy has worked with Rob Crouch to create his new show Trolling.
